Liam joined Ozgene in December 2015 as a Graduate Accountant and has progressed through the organisation alongside the growth and increasing complexity of the group. Early in his career, he distinguished himself through strong technical capability, sound commercial judgement and an ability to operate effectively across a multi-entity environment, contributing to the development of group reporting, financial controls and scalable finance processes.

In recognition of his performance and leadership, Liam was appointed Finance Controller in 2018, where he played a central role in supporting Ozgene’s domestic and international expansion.

Between 2022 and 2023, Liam led the finance, legal and governance aspects of the tender process and successful acquisition of the Animal Resources Centre from the Western Australian Government, working closely with the Board, senior leadership and external advisers. This transaction represented a significant milestone for the group, expanding operational capacity and securing critical, state-of-the-art research infrastructure within Ozgene.

Liam was appointed Chief Financial Officer in July 2023. In this role, he is responsible for the group’s financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting, treasury management, group consolidation, mergers and acquisitions, and statutory compliance across Australia and the United States. As a Director and legally trained executive, he also provides internal legal and commercial support, working closely with external advisers on corporate, regulatory and governance matters.

Outside of work, Liam is an avid motorsport enthusiast and committed to health and fitness, bringing the same discipline and focus to his professional life that he applies to his pursuits outside the office.
