The Position

Ozgene is seeking casual and part time students to work as Animal Care Technicians over the holiday period, with the possibility to continue longer term. Candidates should work well with animals and display constant respect and care towards them. Teamwork as well as good written and oral communication skills are required for this role. As a member of our animal facility you will work closely with a variety of staff members to promote a high standard of work, supporting scientific procedures and ensuring the welfare of all animals.

Your duties will include:

• Basic mouse husbandry
• Ensuring animals have food, water and their bedding is clean
• Promoting animal health and wellbeing
• Carrying out tasks in accordance with animal welfare requirements
• Maintenance of animal facility
• Following quarantine guidelines

This role does not require any previous experience of working in a scientific animal facility.
