Greetings from Japan!

samurai mouse日本からのご挨拶

That’s right, my family and I are in Japan at the moment, one of my favourite places. I spent some time here a few years ago when I participated in the Shingo Tour, a life changing event. This time around, we are here mainly to relax and celebrate my 50th birthday at Disneyland. (I’ve always thought that Mickey is a prime example of a humanised mouse…) We will also take the opportunity to give a few presentations regarding our new technology, goGermline. We are in the Tokyo area so if you would like to meet up and have a chat, let me know!

goGermline has us very excited! We have applied the technology to more client projects and the results are consistent; goGermline technology generates 100% ES cell derived germline mice! Non-ES cell derived mice are never generated in the process. We can also breed the goGermline mice directly to flp, cre and other mouse strains. This is a win–win–win situation; we can improve quality, improve speed and most importantly, improve animal welfare.

To spread the great news, we plan to be travelling around the world in the next few months attending conferences and meeting with clients. We will be learning more about the latest technologies such as CRISPR, along with presenting goGermline. We are always happy to have a chat with anyone so I am sharing our travel schedule here if anyone wants to take me up on that. Here’s to an exciting rest of the year!

  • June-July, Japan
  • July, Germany
  • September, Europe (incl. Annual Meeting of German Society for Immunology, Bonn, Germany)
  • October, US (incl. Annual Operational Excellence Conference, Logan, Utah, USA)
  • December, New Zealand
