Originally bred at the Wistar Institute from albino stock purchased in 1906. Widely disseminated throughout the world since 1911.
Breeding stock refreshed from Charles River Laboratories, USA. Passed directly into the SPF barrier after quarantine in flexible film isolator to verify SPF status.
Imported in Animal Resource Centre (ARC) Western Australia in 1999.
